Utah Fandom Organization and it’s events welcome fandom regardless of age. We do suggest some guidelines for attendees under the age of 17 on the first day of the event, and under. This is not only to comply with city, state and federal guidelines, but provide a safe place for everyone to explore their fandom.
Minor(s) age 13-17 can attend with a purchased membership as long as a parent or guardian point of contact is listed at registration and on the back of their badge. Please note a membership does not guarantee attendance to any part of the event that has an age minimum or requirement. The moderator or volunteer over a panel, event, or workshop can place individual restrictions if necessary. Those restrictions should be posted in the program description and outside a room when possible.
Ages 7-12 require the permission of a designated adult who is also registered at the event. A designated adult is defined as someone that is not the legal guardian or parent of a minor, but is over the age of eighteen, a registered convention member and identified in the minor’s registration record as an adult responsible for them at the convention. Child Memberships do not guarantee entrance to anything that may have an age restriction or requirement. The moderator or volunteer over a panel, event, or workshop can place individual restrictions if necessary. Those restrictions should be posted in the program description and outside a room when possible. This type of membership is required to list a contact on the back of the child’s badge so they may access the children’s programming and events.
Kid(s) In Tow
Ages 0-6 are often overlooked in conventions. Memberships will be given out for children under the age of 7 years old with an accompanying adult or caregiver required. Consideration on rates will be given to caretakers and those with developmental disabilities. Please note that destructive behavior of children under 7, and disruptions need to be managed well, and may escalate to an incident. The 2019 event does provide a quiet room or safe place sometimes necessary for children in this age group, as well as others attending the convention. If you need space, or assistance check with the information desk in the Sky Lobby.
