Site Selection at Spikecon
Since this convention is both a Westercon and a NASFiC, we will be conducting two site selection votes at the convention. Spikecon will conduct the elections to select the site of the 2021 Westercon and the 2020 North American Science Fiction Convention (NASFiC).
To vote in either of these elections, you must be an attending or supporting member of Spikecon (Westercon 72/NASFiC 2019). At the time you vote, you will pay an additional amount called the Advance Supporting Membership fee, which is a supporting membership in the Westercon or NASFiC, regardless of which site wins the election. This money goes to the winning Westercon or NASFiC bid regardless of who wins or how you voted.
The 2020 Worldcon is outside North America which makes NASFiC 2019 the location for selecting the 2020 NASFiC. All sites in North America (as defined in Section 4.8.5 of the WSFS Constitution) except those within 500 miles/800 kilometers of Layton are eligible.
The only bid the has filed and will appear on the ballot will be from Columbus, OH. Their filing can be found here. Bids may choose to run as write-in candidates on the ballot, and can file as a write-in by submitting the required documents any time until the close of the voting.
For further information about NASFiC balloting, see the WSFS Constitution at http://www.wsfs.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/WSFS-Constitution-as-of-August-21-2018.pdf
Bids can also submit their documents through post mail to:
Utah Fandom Organization c/o Site Selection
P.O. Box 201

(One exception: If ‘None of the Above” wins the NASFiC Vote, there will be no 2020 NASFiC and voting fees will be returned to those who bid. For more information on these exceptions see our business pages for links to the Worldcon, World Science Fiction Society Constitution Rules.)
